Beth Chapman has died at the age of 51 after a long battle with cancer.
The wife of Dog The Bounty Hunter had been placed in a medically induced coma on Saturday after experiencing breathing difficulties but never woke up.
Dog, whose real name is Duane Chapman, had been by his wife’s bedside asking fans to keep her in their prayers.
On Wednesday he took to Twitter to reveal that Beth had sadly passed away as he shared a poignant statement about his wife of 13 years.
Dog wrote: “It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”
Beth, who shot to fame alongside her husband in the early 2000s and who nearly appeared in Celebrity Big Brother UK, had been sharing her journey with fans, including trying CBD oil to help with her pain.
The proud great-grandma, whose real name is Alice Elizabeth, was diagnosed with stage II throat cancer in 2017, but was cancer free by December of that year.
Last year the cancer returned and Beth underwent aggressive chemotherapy to treat it.
In January Dog The Bounty Hunter revealed the devastating news that Beth’s cancer was ‘incurable’.
The TV star spoke of his heartbreak at hearing the news that the cancer had spread to Beth’s lungs but said she was determined to ‘fight every step of the way’
Dad Dog told InTouch Weekly at the time: “I have to keep faith, I am the leader of the family.”
Over the last few months Beth has posted regular pictures of her spending time with her family.
Most recently an adorable picture of her husband, their son, grandson and their first great-grandson celebrating on Father’s Day.
This month Beth was placed in a medical-induced coma in Hawaii with sources claiming she was having trouble breathing.
Her family rushed to be by her side and on Monday, Dog tweeted a snap of Beth’s manicured hand from her hospital bed.
On Wednesday he told his Twitter followers that Beth had ‘hiked the stairway to heaven’ and he’d see her on the other side.
Beth and Dog first met in the 1990s and dated on and off for years before getting married in 2006.
They shot to fame in 2004 appearing on US reality series Dog The Bounty Hunter before landing spin off show Dog and Beth: On the Hunt.
They share two children together Bonnie and Garry and Dog has several other children from previous relationships.
